Fybogel Mebeverine combines ispaghula husk with mebeverine hydrochloride for the symptomatic relief of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Ispaghula husk helps restore and maintain bowel regularity, while mebeverine is an antispasmodic that relieves painful gut spasms and cramps.

Directions

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: take one sachet in the morning and one in the evening, half an hour before meals. If necessary, an additional sachet may be taken before the midday meal. Stir one sachet into at least 150ml cold water and drink immediately. Take at least 30–60 minutes before or after other medicines and do not take immediately before going to sleep. Not recommended for children 12 years and under.

Ingredients

Each sachet contains 3.5g ispaghula husk and 135mg mebeverine hydrochloride. Other ingredients include potassium hydrogen carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, microcrystalline cellulose, basic butylated methacrylate copolymer, sterilised talc, polyethylene glycol 6000, citric acid, polysorbate 80, silica colloidal anhydrous, saccharin sodium, aspartame (E951), orange flavour, beta-carotene, riboflavine sodium phosphate and apo-carotenal colouring.

Safety Information

Pharmacy medicine. Do not use if allergic to ispaghula husk, mebeverine or any ingredient, if you have difficulty swallowing, bowel obstruction, severe constipation with rectal bleeding, or a sudden change in bowel habit lasting more than two weeks. Do not take while breastfeeding. Contains aspartame. Consult a doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve after two weeks.
